What Is Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Fingerprinting?

Florida's Department of Law Enforcement fingerprinting is used for conducting criminal history background check for various licensing and credentialing purposes within the state of Florida.
First Contact HR is capable of transmitting fingerprints via Live Scan to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Who Can Use This Service?

Private citizens, companies, and governmental entities are authorized.
Florida requires by law or policy for individuals in specific occupations to have periodic state and/or national criminal history record checks through the regulatory or licensing agency.

What is an ORI?

ORI is the abbreviation for Originating Agency Identifier, which is the code that tells us why you are getting a background check and lets the Florida Department of Law Enforcement know where to forward the results.
As the subject, you will be given instructions (from the agency) that includes a specific ORI Number (Originating Agency Identifier). Florida Live Scan background checks are typically completed within three business days of receiving the electronic submission.
