Minimum Wages increase in New York, New Jersey & Connecticut

Effective December 31, 2013, the minimum wage in New York will increase to $8.00 per hour for non-tipped employees according to the Department of Labor, Division of Labor Standards.

The tipped employee minimum wage rates are based on industry. Additional information can be found on the Department of Labor, Division of Labor Standards website at http://www.labor.ny.gov/workerprotection/laborstandards.workprot/lashmpg.shtm

Effective January 1, 2014, the minimum wage will increase $1.00 from the current $7.25 to $8.25 per hour from non-tipped employees as announced by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Thereafter, the minimum wage will increase annually proportional to the consumer price index for all urban wage earners and clerical workers.

Effective January 1, 2014, the minimum wage will increase to $8.70 per hour for non-tipped employees according to Connecticut Department of Labor.
