When requesting background check reports, you should know that First Contact HR strictly complies with federal, state and local laws and is considered a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Before conducting employment background checks on behalf of employers, our clients must also confirm that they will abide by all applicable laws, review and sign a service agreement consistent with the requirements of the FCRA. Employers must confirm among other things that a signed consent form will be obtained prior to requesting an employment background check report, and will follow specific procedures should an adverse employment action be considered, such as conduct an individualized assessment, provide Pre-Adverse and Adverse action notices.
